A review of GoldProspectorsSpace: The Social Network for Gold Prospectors and Treasure Hunters

I was referred to GoldProspectorsSpace  by a fellow who does gold paydirt reviews on youtube. It's a nice social gathering website.  I was warmly welcomed.  It is a pretty busy website, there always seems to be someone in the chat area, always something new to see.  There are people there  from all over, and with varying degrees of experience in  prospecting.  The site has  complete newbies who have just caught gold fever and are eager to learn, well seasoned prospectors there, who are happy to share their wisdom and anecdotes, and  every step in between.

There are forums  for newbies and old timers  to converse,  ask and answer questions, and show picture of their latest finds. The forums have a classifieds section as well, so if you are looking for equipment you can check that out.  They also have many advertisers specific to prospecting, metal detecting and  treasure hunting.  The advertisers are said to have high quality  goods and they help support the website.

Some of the members have links to their youtube how-to videos, which I find informative and helpful.  The whole site itself is informative .  If you don't know what terms like "highbanking" and "sluicing"  are you will soon learn, from the forums, the videos, and the members.  They do have it all from  how to season a gold pan and pan for gold,  all the way up to how to run the big equipment.

They sell it all even dirt that you can have delivered to your home if you are like me and  do not live in a state where gold exists "in the wild". The gold panning dirt they sell has always gotten high marks from buyers. How you see the pricing really depends on your budget. If you are like me and  are of extremely low income, you might not  be able to accommodate the pricing, but if you are low middle class upwards, you will find it most agreeable. In other words, the pricing seems to suit most budgets.

Last but not least,  GoldProspectorsSpace  does a Sunday night radio show online at:  http://www.goldprospectorsspaceradio.com/ .  It starts at 7:30 pm eastern time.

If you are interested in prospecting for gold, hunting gems, metal detecting, or anything related, I recommend you visit GoldProspectorsSpace .  Be sure to observe proper netiquette and do not  overtly or  inadvertently advertise non-supporters of the website though. That is considered to be in extremely poor form and taste, which is wholly understandable. Prospectors of extreme lesser income (such as myself) who do purchase dirt or equipment elsewhere, be most careful of what you post about it (and it might be good not to even mention ebay  at all, unless it's  in the negative spectrum of references).

GoldProspectorsSpace apparently garners  most of it's support from advertisers who sell products relative to the website itself. That is one reason they are ad-heavy in appearance.  It can be a really good thing  if you're looking to buy. If you're not in the market for  dirt or equipment you can donate to the website, there is a button for that.  So, if you aren't buying or even if you cannot afford the products but still want to support a great site,  you can paypal a few dollars here and there. They  are appreciative.

All in all GoldProspectorsspace is a  welcoming website, very informative, friendly,  and supportive. According to one member: "It's like a family."  I believe that speaks volumes.  Good day and happy prospecting/treasure hunting all!

What is armchair prospecting?

I didn't coin the term, but I love it!  Armchair prospecting is  panning for gold using dirt  you purchase   from someone else, either in person or online.  I live in Florida, and I don't think there are any gold mines here, so I decided to  try panning in my living-room! I'd watched my brother pan dirt he  brought back from Alabama, and  I panned a little myself, and thought it would be a nice hobby.

I am on a very low fixed  income, so I can't buy the  high priced large amounts of dirt, but I can  bid on some here and there,   buy a little,  and pan it.  I also doubt I will be able to purchase any of the finer tools like a millers table, or sluice box setup.  This is bare bones, a  couple of pans, some dirt, some water, and  me!  I  will chronicle my  experiences  with panning for gold at home and I really hope   that you all get some giggles and grins,  and maybe learn from me as I am learning from others!

I'd like to thank Gold paydirt reviews for  their videos on YouTube and their  wonderful advice, and also for their referral of goldprospectorsspace.com . It's a wonderful place to meet prospectors from all over who  have all levels of experience!

Anyway, happy reading!
